THE JOURNAL

Lauren Morrison

This is where I get a bit raw. A bit uncensored and a lot vulnerable about my own personal journey through major life shifts. If you are new to this journal, I highly recommend starting from the first post. If you are an avid follower, stay tuned to this page for more entries.

I hate asking for help!

Can you relate? Maybe “hate” is a strong word, but if it isn’t, why am I so often adverse to it? Especially when I know what possibilities exist on the other side of it. More time. Less confusion. More awareness. Less resentment.

So how do you…ask for help?

The weight of the “only”

I once had a colleague tell me that he never pays attention to how many women or people of color are in the room. He was proud to tell me this because it was supposed to suggest that he was color blind or not sexist. I thought to myself how incredible it must be to never feel like you need to look for validation that you belong somewhere. Am I greedy?

I’m sharing this today because so many times this week I sat across from clients who pondered this very dilemma with themselves. Is it ungrateful to desire more for our lives when we have achieved so much and so many others in the world would give anything to be where we are?

This is the blog post that started that self-discovery journey for me.
